About Me
Hi, I’m Leanne.
I’m a narrative-driven documentary photographer based in South Wales, currently in my final year of a BA (Hons) Photography at Coleg Gwent and Cardiff Metropolitan University. My path here started with a Distinction in my FdA, and that same drive for excellence carries through every project and image I take.
I truly believe the most profound stories live in the quiet, unposed "layers" of everyday life. My perspective has been shaped by 18 years as a foster parent - a role that taught me the value of empathy and how to build genuine trust in sensitive spaces. Because of this, I approach my work with a deep respect for ethics, making me a natural fit for projects with NGOs, healthcare providers, and community groups.
I’m proud to say my work has been validated on the international stage. It’s one thing to take a photo, but it’s another to have it vetted by industry experts. Recently, my practice has been recognised in several global open calls:
Lenscratch: Featured in the curated international exhibition Favourite Photo of 2025 (January 2026).
Expert Merit Award: Top 10 finish in International Animal Photography, judged and merited by Tesni Ward.
Expert Commended: Recognised by world-renowned photojournalist Stuart Freedman.
High-Tier Placements: Placing in the top 12–14% of global calls, including in Public Art and Architecture categories.
Credentials:
Enhanced DBS Certified (Available for sensitive and community-based environments).
FdA Professional Photography (Distinction).
Enhanced DBS Certified (Available for sensitive and community-based environments).
FdA Professional Photography (Distinction).
Whether I’m documenting the fast pace of city life or the intimate, "passing through" moments at home, my goal is always the same: to capture those fleeting, honest glimpses of our shared human experience.
